How to Block DraftKings, FanDuel and Other Sportsbooks

To block DraftKings, FanDuel and other sportsbooks, use four locks. Self-exclude in each company's app, which shuts your account with that company. Join your state's self-exclusion list, which reaches every sportsbook your state licenses. Then block the sportsbooks' websites on your computer and lock their apps on your phone. Each lock covers something the others miss, and each lasts a different length of time.

On the companies' own help pages, checked September 29, 2026, self-excluding takes a few steps. FanDuel lists four: sign in, open Responsible Gaming or User Tools, choose Self-Exclusion, then pick a period and submit. Once you are signed in, bet365 describes a three-step menu path and Hard Rock Bet a two-step one.

Which lock should I use?

The locks stack rather than compete. A company's self-exclusion bars you from betting with that company, a state list bars you from betting with every company the state licenses, and a device block works on the phone or computer where you set it. The table shows each company's own lock.

Does blocking DraftKings block FanDuel too?

Not on its own. A self-exclusion with one sportsbook covers that company, and a handful of companies take nearly all the money bet on legal sports betting apps. In some states, such as New Jersey, a company's form also adds you to the state's list, and that list is what reaches the rest. New York shows how concentrated the market is, because its Gaming Commission publishes what each licensed app takes in bets every month. In 2025, five apps took 94.9% of it, and FanDuel and DraftKings alone took 71.0%.

Even the biggest app took only about a third of the money bet, so an account lock at one sportsbook leaves most of the legal market open. Keep that lock, and add your state's list, which reaches every licensed sportsbook in the state with one sign-up.

How do I block DraftKings?

DraftKings' Responsible Gaming Center links its cool-off and self-exclusion forms, which you submit while signed in. Its self-exclusion page says the lock blocks you from logging in to any DraftKings product on all its websites and apps. It names the sportsbook, casino, daily fantasy, DK Horse, DraftKings Predictions, the Jackpocket lottery courier and Golden Nugget Online Gaming, and notes that the lock does not apply to Jackpocket Casino in New Jersey.

DraftKings says players must finish the full length of an exclusion before their account can be reinstated. Existing sportsbook bets settle normally unless your state's rules say otherwise, and DraftKings says it will start returning eligible funds under your state's or province's rules. In mid-2025, its help center listed cool-offs of 3 days to 4 weeks and self-exclusions of 1 or 5 years. The current forms set the lengths by state, so check the options yours shows.

DraftKings' own websites include draftkings.com, where its sportsbook, casino, Predictions and racing sites all sit, plus dkhorse.com and lottery.jackpocket.com. A block on all of draftkings.com also covers its responsible gaming pages, so self-exclude before you block the site.

How do I block FanDuel?

FanDuel's help page lists four steps: sign in, open Responsible Gaming or User Tools, choose Self-Exclusion, then pick a period, enter your details and submit. FanDuel says a self-exclusion set on one FanDuel product applies to all your other eligible FanDuel products, and that people who self-exclude lose access to every FanDuel product, FanDuel Predicts included.

So FanDuel's help pages describe no casino-only or sportsbook-only exclusion: whichever product you set the lock on, it covers all your eligible FanDuel products. They do not say whether it reaches other brands owned by FanDuel's parent company.

Self-exclusion lasts at least a year. FanDuel's responsible gaming page says you can exclude yourself from FanDuel alone or, through a statewide program, from every operator in your state. A shorter Timeout runs 3 to 365 days in most states, and Kansas caps it at 89 days. In New Jersey, FanDuel's state page says its form offers 1 or 5 years and also excludes you from every sports betting app New Jersey regulates.

FanDuel's own websites include fanduel.com, which carries its sportsbook, casino, racing and state account addresses, plus tvg.com for horse racing and fanduel.ca in Canada.

How do I block BetMGM?

BetMGM's terms point to Player Icon, then Responsible Gaming, then Time-Out & Self-Exclusion, once you are signed in. They say a self-exclusion set in one state shuts you out of BetMGM's services in every other state, and that the account will not be reactivated during the period you choose. If you self-exclude with a bet pending on an event that has not started, the bet is voided and the money returned.

A BetMGM time-out runs from three days up to a full year, though its New Jersey terms cap it at 183 days. Its US terms do not publish self-exclusion lengths. They also do not say that a BetMGM self-exclusion covers its sister sites, such as Borgata Online, PartyCasino, PartyPoker and Wheel of Fortune Casino, so exclude from each one you use or join your state's list. In Ontario, BetMGM's terms offer self-exclusion for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, covering its Ontario accounts only.

BetMGM's own websites include betmgm.com and its state sites, betmgm.ca in Ontario and betmgm.co.uk in Great Britain, plus the sister sites borgataonline.com, partycasino.com, partypoker.com and wheeloffortunecasino.com.

How do I block Hard Rock Bet?

Hard Rock Bet's responsible gaming page says to sign in on your phone or computer, open My Account or Profile, then Responsible Gaming, where you can take a timeout or self-exclude. It says self-exclusion completely restricts access to the Hard Rock Bet app and desktop site, suspends its marketing, and follows rules that vary by state. It does not publish fixed lengths for most states. In New Jersey, it says self-exclusion bars you from all of the state's licensed online gambling for 1 or 5 years.

Hard Rock's state terms say limits set in the Hard Rock Bet app do not apply at its casinos in that state. Its own websites include hardrock.bet, the older hardrockbet.com, and hardrockbet.ca in Ontario.

How do I block bet365?

bet365's state self-exclusion pages say to sign in, open the Account Menu, choose Gaming Controls, then Self-Exclusion. In most states it offers 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years or indefinitely, plus a shorter Time-Out of 72 hours, 7 days or 30 days. During a self-exclusion you can still sign in to withdraw your balance, and bet365 says an excluded account cannot be reopened “for any reason.”

Lengths vary by state: Tennessee offers 3 years instead of 2, and Pennsylvania adds a 3-month Time-Out. In New Jersey and Kansas, bet365 sends your self-exclusion to the state, which applies it to every licensed operator there. bet365's own pages suggest deleting its apps, unfollowing its social media accounts and considering software that blocks gambling websites. Its US sites run on bet365.com addresses, and its Ontario site on bet365.ca.

How do I block Betway?

Betway has left the US. Its owner, Super Group, announced its exit from US sportsbooks in 2024 and has since exited US online casino too. Betway still operates in Ontario and Great Britain, where one sign-up covers every licensed site, Betway included: BetGuard in Ontario and GAMSTOP in Great Britain, both covered in the state-list section below. How long does each lock last?

The locks run on very different clocks. A company's cool-off can end within days, while a state list can run for years or for life. The chart puts each one on the same time scale.

DraftKings, BetMGM, Hard Rock Bet and bet365 each say that once you submit an exclusion, it runs for the full period you picked, so choose the length before you submit.

How to self-exclude from every sportsbook in your state

Each of the 14 states below runs its own self-exclusion list, and its regulator says the list reaches every sportsbook it licenses, online and mobile included. One sign-up covers them all. Where a state keeps separate lists, the table names the one that covers online sports betting.

A state list covers the sportsbooks that state licenses. Several regulators say an operator may choose to apply the ban in its other states, but none of the 14 says the list itself follows you across a state line. There is no national list for the big sportsbook states: a federal self-exclusion list exists only in a bill, the SAFE Bet Act, which was referred to a Senate committee in March 2025. Tennessee's regulator adds that illegal offshore sportsbooks do not offer self-exclusion at all.

How to block sportsbook websites on a Windows PC

An account lock works on your account; a site block works on your computer, whether or not you have an account. Self-exclusion and device blocking do different jobs. How do I block sports betting apps on my phone?

GuardianBlock does not run on phones, so use the phone's own controls. They hold best when someone you trust sets the passcode or PIN.

On an iPhone, Apple rates real-money betting apps 18+. In Settings, Screen Time, Content & Privacy Restrictions, you can restrict apps by age rating or turn off app installs. On iOS 26, the same menu's Web Content setting lets you add a sportsbook's website to a Never Allow list; Apple's guide does not say which other browsers besides Safari honour it. Apple also says Screen Time limits can be ignored once reached unless a Screen Time passcode is set, and it ties passcode recovery to the Apple Account entered at setup, so it matters whose account that is. On Android, Google documents two ways to put one app behind a PIN. On some phones, Digital Wellbeing lets you set an app limits PIN and give the sportsbook app a limit of zero. On Android 17 or later, Parental controls let the PIN holder turn off Allow app for it, which hides it from the app list; that option is not available on a phone with a work profile or private space. Google Play content restrictions set below Adults Only filter what the Play Store offers on that phone, and Google Play requires real-money betting apps to be rated Adults Only. Google says the setting does not stop restricted apps from showing up in search or through a direct link, and it leaves apps already installed in place. Android's built-in web filter targets explicit sites only, so it does not block a sportsbook's website, and Google's Family Link is built for children's and teens' accounts.

Can I block sportsbooks on my credit or debit card?

Ask your card issuer, because none of the issuers checked for this guide (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One and Chime) publishes a gambling block. Some card agreements mention betting instead: Bank of America's says it may deny authorization of transactions identified as internet gambling, and Chase's card agreement treats online betting as a cash advance.

Some card apps can block one merchant. Cash App lets you block a business that has already charged your Cash App Card, and some credit unions offer card controls by merchant type. A card block covers only that card, so pair it with the account and state locks above. How do I stop sports betting ads?

Several companies say a self-exclusion also takes you off their own marketing. DraftKings says self-excluded players are removed from all its marketing lists, FanDuel says it removes your email from its marketing within 72 hours, and bet365 says it removes you from its marketing databases. That covers each company's own marketing, not other companies' ads or the commercials that run during games.

A few platforms have settings that turn gambling ads down, not off. In Google's My Ad Center, open Customize Ads, then the Sensitive tab, and turn off Gambling; Google says it makes its best attempt not to show gambling ads on Search, YouTube and Discover while you are signed in. In Meta's Accounts Center, open Ad preferences, then Ad topics, and choose See less for gambling; Meta applies it across the Facebook and Instagram accounts in that Accounts Center, and says you may still see some. Roku's Sensitive ad content setting covers only Roku's own display ads, such as Home Screen banners, not video ads. No viewer setting was found for commercials during games on TV or streaming. What these blocks don't cover

• A company's self-exclusion covers that company, not its rivals, unless its form also adds you to the state's list. A state list does not reach sites the state does not license.
• A state list covers one state. Some operators apply it elsewhere by choice; none of the regulators checked says the list follows you.
• A website block works on the computer and browsers where it runs. It does not close an account, settle open bets, withdraw a balance, or reach a phone app or another device.
• Phone controls are only as firm as whoever holds the passcode or PIN, and a card block covers one way to pay.
• Every lock here has terms, and none promises an outcome. Together they add time and friction between an urge and a bet. GuardianBlock's limitations page sets out the Windows boundaries.

Quick answers

Does self-excluding from DraftKings block FanDuel? Not on its own. Each company's self-exclusion covers its own products, unless its form also adds you to the state's list, as some do in New Jersey. To reach every licensed sportsbook in your state at once, join your state's list.

Does a DraftKings self-exclusion cover Golden Nugget? DraftKings' self-exclusion page lists Golden Nugget Online Gaming among the products it covers, along with DK Horse, DraftKings Predictions and the Jackpocket lottery courier.
